TODAY IS YESTERDAY TOMORROW ….Long ago our village was in turmoil. There were many long years of chaos, disease and war. One day a man suddenly appeared in the midst our broken village. No one knew his name. He would only be called The Sage. With his words the village and the people began to heal. Many would come and listen and learn from his wisdom. They even journeyed from far, far away just to be his presence. His talk became less and less, then finally became silent as the people poured out their tributes, worship, and offerings. It was a wonderful time of positivity and an outflowing of fellowship. The days seemed to favor all in their lives. The Sage- by Ned Rouse TODAY IS YESTERDAY TOMORROW Words & Music 2017 by NED ALLEN ROUSE I was looking for life, under a mountain of debt I was preparing the room, for my last dying breath I am the first one to come, and am the last one to leave I like to wear my art on my sleeve I don’t think I change a mines I don’t think I can walk on mines I won't set myself up for such sorrow I know today is yesterday tomorrow You were picking the low hanging fruit, from my front leaning tree I was hurting so much, I didn’t think I could breathe You had one hand on my back, and one on my heart It all came down to a stab in the dark I don’t think it can get much worse I don’t think there'll be a next verse I won't set myself up for such sorrow I know today is yesterday tomorrow I put myself on the alter, because the sacrifice was in She said I do, and let the games begin. I always kept trying to get it right Creating collateral damage with my practice wives On the carousel I grabbed the rings, The wedding bouquet hid the bee that stings. I threw a garter and I threw my life While ignoring the lessons and meaning of wife I won't set myself up for such sorrow I know today is yesterday tomorrow Yes I Do!
